Whether through attending skill-building workshops, such as resume writing and interview preparation, or engaging with employers during the career fair, this achievement highlights a proactive approach to exploring career opportunities and building a strong professional foundation.

Earning the Studio G Entrepreneurial Explorer Pathway Certificate involves completing a series of workshops and activities designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. This pathway encourages participants to explore entrepreneurial thinking, develop creative problem-solving skills, and learn how to identify opportunities for innovation. By engaging with Studio G resources and completing assignments like brainstorming business ideas, identifying target audiences, and analyzing market opportunities, participants gain the foundational knowledge needed to pursue entrepreneurial ventures confidently. The certificate signifies their commitment to innovation and prepares them to contribute fresh ideas in any professional setting.

The NMSU-A First-Generation Celebration Cookout and Panel was an inspiring event that brought together our first-generation college students, faculty, and staff to celebrate their unique journeys and achievements. Held on November 8th, the event featured a welcoming cookout with delicious food, a supportive atmosphere, and an engaging panel discussion. Panelists shared their personal stories, challenges, and triumphs as first-generation college students attending NMSU-A, offering valuable insights and motivation for attendees. The event highlighted the strength and resilience of the first-generation community while fostering connections and providing a platform for open dialogue.

This Workshop Wednesday focused on the concept of civic health, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement in personal and community well-being. Participants explored various forms of civic participation, such as voting, volunteering, and community advocacy, learning practical steps to strengthen their involvement.

This workshop provides students with an essential introduction to the world of student loans. Participants learned about the types of loans available, the borrowing process, and how to manage student debt responsibly. Whether planning to take out loans or already in the process, this session offered valuable guidance to help students make informed financial decisions for their education.

As part of the Ready, Committ, Continue, and Complete (RC3) Workshop Wednesday series, Home Fitness, and Exercise Routines was designed for the entire campus community, focused on creating effective workout plans and maintaining motivation while exercising at home. Led by our dedicated staff, this session included practical advice on developing personalized fitness routines and strategies for staying motivated. Students were also encouraged to participate in some exercises, making the session interactive and engaging. The workshop aimed to help attendees improve their fitness levels and achieve their wellness goals.

Ready, Commit, Continue, and Complete (RC3) Services at NMSU Alamogordo hosted Meet Your Success Team, an event welcoming all students to network with the RC3 Team and the NMSU-A Academic Support Center Tutors. This one-time event offered an opportunity for students to get introduced to the team members and tutors, learn about the resources and services provided by RC3, and build connections that will support them throughout their academic journey. Designed as an open networking session, the event is an excellent way for students to form relationships with the RC3 Team and explore how the team can help them succeed.

As we kick off the Fall 2024 semester at NMSU Alamogordo, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible achievements of our students! NMSU-Alamogordo has an Active-Duty award which requires our recipient to be active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, along with obtaining a 3.0 GPA and showing exceptional performance in coursework, including the completion of challenging courses or projects that contribute to their field of study. This year's recipient is a top student in his coursework for General Engineering. His instructors have all praised the hard work and dedication he shows to his studies. He is a responsible and respectful student. They all enjoy having him in their courses and fully support in celebrating Ty Allen as NMSU-A's Active-Duty award recipient. We thank you for your services, Ty!

Jay Lopez was selected from a pool of high achieving students for this award. They are majoring in Engineering Technology and have served in the Student Government as Secretary for 2022-23 and as President for 2023-24. They also served as Vice President for the STEM Club from 2022-23. They played an integral role in restoring the student government of NMSU-A and have taken the initiative to organize various campus-wide events that promote a welcoming atmosphere for students. These events include mental health awareness workshops, campus resource fairs, student mixers, community gardens, and initiatives related to food and water security on campus. Lopez also volunteers to set up and demonstrate STEM activities for high school students in the local school district when they visit the campus. Additionally, they work as peer mentors for students under the RC3 program, providing students with one-on-one assistance with applications, enrollment, registration, resources, financial aid, and more. Apart from their efforts on campus. Lopez is a passionate advocate for community outreach. Since January of 2023, they have been working with Many Hands - Alamogordo Public Land for Food to establish community gardens and other food security resources in all districts of Alamogordo.

RaNee was selected as a member of the ALL-New Mexico Academic Team for two-year colleges for the year 2024. She was nominated by the All-USA Academic Team Selection Committee co-chairs, James Gallagher, and Sonja de Vargas. The selection was based on academic excellence, campus and community service, and leadership abilities. RaNee is a Crimson Scholar named to the Dean's List. She is serving as the current interim President of Phi Theta Kappa. She is also involved in Student Government and the Art Club. RaNee works as the Mental and Behavior Mentor for NMSU-A's RC3 program and helped develop three safe zones on campus: one for studying and socializing, another as a therapeutic setting, and another, the Veteran's Lounge. She also oversees the self-care bins on campus; an initiative she worked on as a Student Assistant with RC3. In the community, RaNee is a member of 100% Otero and serves as the NMSU-A representative for the Otero County Community Health Center. As a winner of the award, RaNee received a medallion, and a certificate from Phi Theta Kappa. a proclamation of her achievement by the New Mexico State House and Senate, and a two-year tuition scholarship to NMSU. In addition, she is now eligible to compete for national honors as a potential All-USA team member.

Nik Huffman's stellar contributions and exceptional dedication have rightfully earned him the prestigious Rising Star Award at the NMSU-A Celebration of Excellence. Held in the esteemed NMSU-A Tays Special Events Center, this event serves as a platform to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of students in both academic endeavors and campus involvement. Amongst a pool of talented peers, Nik stood out as the epitome of excellence, showcasing not only academic prowess but also active participation in campus organizations. His receipt of the Rising Star Award in the Best of Category is a testament to his remarkable potential and promising future within the NMSU-A community.

Throughout their tenure, each student has been a driving force in cultivating a vibrant community of visual artists on our campus. With a passion for creativity and a commitment to collaboration, they have played a pivotal role in fostering connections among fellow students who share a love for art. Some of their most notable initiatives include The Barbie Box, The new mural found behind the NMSU-A Community Garden, and the various murals painted on the NMSU-A Patio. Through their active involvement, the members of Student Art Society have helped to provide enriching creative and educational opportunities beyond the confines of the classroom, benefiting not only our members but also students, faculty, staff, and the wider community of Alamogordo. As we celebrate each member's journey with the Student Art Society, we recognize their enduring impact in nurturing a culture of artistic expression and camaraderie that will continue to inspire generations of artists to come.
